until it's gone

someone I never knew very well for whatever reason recently lost all of her things in a house fire

I spent some time contemplating and wondering, trying to put myself in her shoes for a moment to feel what it would be like, and became very sad.

maybe by thinking about these situations, we can get closer to the ones we love, and closer to finding the essence of love and life and of enjoying every moment.

I consciously make an effort not to say things in a way that sound 'religious', then feel foolish for expressing myself, then wonder what the relationship between the two are and remind myself that it doesn't apply to me because I wasn't raised to associate like that.

it dawned on me that I was more concerned the battery level of my cellphone than of wether I had sent my mother a birthday card, I called her right away

we will begin with a series of letters from friends and family, I will be the only common link the other users will not know one another. the subject of the letters should be the the most "REAL" life experiences they have in their memory. the group will have a dialogue about one anothers experiences in critical comparison to everyday events that seem important but really pale in comparison. the group will begin as real strangers, and grow to know one another thru this dialogue hopefully opening up as one tends to, ironically, do via today's virtual experiences, but less so with the people actually around us

this experience may by suited for a more direct documentary style volume, or perhaps as a script staged in a cafe, where the group always knew one another and chatted about their experiences on afternoon, in a dia
